Fresh Faces is able to bring a health education to elementary schools which teaches them about: calories, portion control, and how to understand nutritional facts. Each class will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities that encourage kids to stay active.
Each school enters a 30-day health challenge. Schools are asked to compete against each other for a grand prize. The challenge involves 30 days of eating more fruits and vegetables. Each student logs his or her progress. At the end of the challenge, the school with the most eaten fruits and vegetables takes the grand prize. The challenge is incorporated at least once a year.
The winning classroom of the challenge earns a trip to tour a university and attend one of their sporting events. Children get the opportunity to imagine themselves attending a university and pursue higher education.
